Dear Club Secretary,
We are writing to you to let you know about the annual photography courses which we run on the unique and beautiful island of Easdale, on Scotland’s west coast.
Now in their fourth year, the two separate courses offer photographers of any ability the opportunity to come to the island, learn from and collaborate with two experienced and creative teachers, committed to passing on their skills and sharing their knowledge built up over decades as professional photographers.
The intensive but fun two-day courses allow participants the time to shoot a story based on the island, which was historically the home to Scotland’s world famous slate quarrying industry. Easdale is the smallest permanently-inhabited Inner Hebridean island and is accessible by passenger ferry. There are no cars on the island and it has around 65 permanent residents. There are just six places available on each of the two courses, and participants will stay on the island for three nights in two beautifully-appointed traditional cottages. All catering is provided. All you have to do is get to the island, relax and develop your photography skills.
We are also delighted to announce a collaboration with Glasgow-based gallery Street Level Photoworks for this year’s courses. Participants on the 2020 programme of photography courses will have the opportunity to have the work they make on Easdale island included at the newly-opened cultural hub Rothesay Pavilion, in later 2020, as part of ‘Doon the Watter’, Street Level Photoworks’ programme as part of Year of Coasts and Waters’. This is a wonderful opportunity for our participants to have their work seen and showcased at a time when much of Scotland’s artistic focus will be on its iconic coastline, rivers and seascapes.
We would be interested to discover whether it would be possible for you to share the details of our courses with your members and through your networks. All the details are here on our website: http://www.easdale-experiences.com/2017/12/12/dates-set-photography-courses/
If you require any further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
With kind regards,
Adam Lee and Colin McPherson
